Horizons University Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA)
The proposed structure for Doctorate Degree level includes standard programs where the units, syllabus and entry criteria are structured in accordance to highest academic standards that meets the European and specifically UK requirements, and identified in accordance to market demand and the targeted audience learning behaviors.
Doctorate in Business Administration program (DBA) program has been created to develop and reward those learners who are looking to or already have chosen a top management career level in a business-related sector.
Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) Structure
Doctorate in Business Administration program (DBA) program has a structure of a standard program that consists of 10 core units and an obligation of delivering and defense of a doctorate dissertation.
Also we would like to recommend the concept of DBA majors as a progression route for DBA majors, as there is a very high demand on such concept in the Middle East market

Standard Program
Objectives:
Learners studying Doctorate in Business Administration is intended to create and put into practice successful strategies in ambitious, expanding organizations.
Executive directors and senior managers are the ones who should be in charge of strategic management because they possess the power and motivation to convert organizational strategy into successful business outcomes.
In order to become competitive and adaptable to securing business in the future, the DBA demands senior managers and directors, whether they are currently employed or not, to develop their knowledge and comprehension of strategic direction and leadership. They also need to concentrate on growth and performance at all organizational levels.
Specifications and Study Duration:
The Doctorate Degree requires learners to complete 10 units equivalent to 100 Credits and a Dissertation Writing equivalent to 40 Credits, and a Thesis Defense equivalent to 40 Credits so the total credits of the program is equivalent to 180 Credits.
Study Duration 2 Academic Years divided into two semesters, equivalent to 16 calendar months, plus two months break between the two semesters which makes the whole duration of the degree is 18 calendar months.
Entry Requirements
This level is designed for learners who are typically aged 25 years and above.

For learners who have recently been in education or training the entry profile is likely to include one of following:
- Completed final year of a Master’s Degree
- Equivalent international qualifications
- Two years of professional experience
For those whom English is not their first language we recommend the following standards of proficiency in English language skills or an approved equivalent for these qualifications:
- IELTs 6.0
- Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B2
- Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 169 or above
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic 51-54 – OR –
- At least reach level B2 at https://www.efset.org/ef-set-50
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
There will be occasions where learners wish to claim recognition of prior learning that has not been formally assessed and accredited. IFTC will conduct interviews with potential learners for RPL.
